Damascus on Monday lashed out at Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Qatar, stressing that these regime are escalating the war in Syria, hours after seven bombings hit coastal cities of Jableh and Tartous, killing dozens of civilians.
Syrian Foreign Ministry sent a letter to the United Nations in which it blamed Riyadh, Ankara and Doha for the “serious escalation.”Syria foreign ministry
“These terrorist bombings constitute a serious escalation by the extremist and malicious regimes of Riyadh, Ankara, and Doha, and that they seek to undermine the efforts that aim at stopping the shedding of Syrian blood,” SANA news agency cited the Syrian letter as saying.
These “states’ persistence to impose a policy of silence on the Security Council regarding such crimes… inspires these regimes to continue directing their terrorist pawns in Syria to commit massacres against the Syrian people,” the Syrian foreign ministry added.
The letter also criticized Britain, France and the US over their refusal to label Jaysh al-Islam and al-Qaeda-affiliated Ahrar al-Sham as terrorist groups, saying the approach speaks to their lack of seriousness in fighting terrorism.
Bombings and terrorist attacks, the letter said, will not dent Syria’s determination to combat terrorism.

Russian President offered condolences to his Syrian counterpart Basahar Assad on martyrs of the terrorist blasts which hit Tartous and Jableh cities on Monday.
Putin ” offered the sincerest terms of solidarity and sympathy with families of the victims, hoping quick recovery for the wounded,” SANA news agency cited a cable sent by Putin to Assad.Putin and Assad
“This tragedy indicates, once again, the inhuman and brutal feature of the terrorist groups which launched the bloody war against the Syrian people,” Putin said in the cable.
He reiterated Moscow’s readiness to continue cooperation with the Syrian partners against the terrorist threat, stressing that criminals whose hands are stained with the blood of innocents would not escape punishment.
Tartous and Jableh witnessed terrorist attacks on Monday that claimed the lives of tens of citizens and wounded many others.
