BBC tries to sugarcoat the Al Nusra Front, Syrias Al Qaeda branch

One cannot help but to get the impression the author wants to downplay the Nusra Fronts evil and explain in what way this sectarian terrorist organization can be purified and euphemized. Reading carefully (and between the lines) it becomes obvious that the “logic” applied is twisted, flawed and deeply disturbing.
Let´s go through some of the statements and “arguments” of the author aiming to explain (or justify?) Qatars attempt to “rebrand” Al Nusra:
“Firstly, there are no “good choices” in Syria today. Qatar has surmised, it seems, that supporting or transforming the Nusra Front, is one of the “least worst” options.”
Some questions/remarks:
1. Even if there were really no “good choices” why does Qatar think it must intervene at any price at all? In how far are the alleged or real offenses of the Syrian government hurting or affecting Qatar that this remote and tiny country considers it righful to chose the “least worst” option?
2. Why has Qatar invested billions of USD in almost all of the many so called “least worst” options to achieve regime change on the grounds that “Assad is massacring his people” but at the same time has not given tens (or hundreds) of thousands of Syrian fugitives asylum? Syria had not a twentieth of Qatars resources but hosted hundreds of thousands of Palestinian refugees.
3. How did Qatar conclude that Al Qaeda in Syria (and nothing else is Al Nusra) is the “least worst” option? How can a terror group that mass executes unarmed prisoners, behead opponents, is violently sectarian, and has killed thousands of people through suicide bombings be an option at all?
“Secondly, the Nusra Front has pledged to concentrate its efforts on removing the Bashar al-Assad government, as opposed to attacking the “far enemy” (ie Western states).”
Really? Who was the witness of this “pledge”? Who signed for Al Nusra? And who is going to control that Al Nusra stays loyal to it? Had not Al Nusra earlier pledged obedience to IS leader al Baghdadi? And later to Al Qaedas Ayman al Zawahiri?
So, what is the pledge of a bunch of cutthroats worth?
So, as long as Al Nusra suicide bombs Syrian soldiers and “pro-regime” civilians (which they simply denounce as “Shabiha”), throws Alawites and “pro-regime” Sunnis into ovens and executes women for adultery BUT refrains from attacking western states, there is little to object, what?
Is this not a sick way of thinking and acting?
“This is why Qatar is hoping to bring the Nusra Front in from the cold. If the state can get the group to eschew its al-Qaeda affiliation and adhere to a broadly moderate Islamist platform, Qatar can officially commence, with Western blessing, the supply of one of the most effective fighting forces in Syria. ”
This is all incredibly ridiculous and an insult to anyone (except Qataris and Salafis) intelligence:
We are supposed to absolve Al Nusra from all their beheadings and atrocities the moment they simply announce they do not belong to Al Qaeda anymore? Nusra (and similiar radical Islamists actions and mindset) is evil because of it´s nature, motivation and results, not because of that peoples official “membership” to a vague umbrella group.
In the Qalamoun area on the Syrian-Lebanese border Al Nusra is continuing to work closely with IS, so their actions should be relevant and not their formal dissociation from Al Qaeda. Thousands of Syrian and non-Syrian extremists explicitly joined Al Nusra because of this groups uncompromising and highly sectarian Jihadism. These folks do not become moderates overnight only if their leadership grudingly accepts to abandon Al Qaeda in order to get more and better arms.

Remembering 1961 Muslim Massacre in Paris

In January 2015, the entire Zionist-controlled world cried over the killings of four French Jews as result of a false flag operation at the Charlie Hebdo and the Kosher Market in Paris. But these crying Islamophobes don’t even know that French police and army killed over 400 Algerian-French Muslim citizens in Paris and arrested another 10,000 on October 17, 1961. They’re among the 30,000 Algerians demonstrating in Paris against the curfew imposed on 200,000-strong Algerian French community by the French colonial regime during Algerians bid to liberate themselves from French Judeo-Christian occupation of their homeland.

On October 5, 1961, French cabinet minister, Maurice Papon (died 2007), put in place a curfew covering all “French Muslims from Algeria”. Papon was convicted for 10 years in jail in 1998 for collaborating with Nazis in the so-called “deportation” of 1560 French Jews from Bourdeaux region during WW II and not for his crimes against French Muslims.

Both Jewish-controlled French and western media ignored the massacre as Jews were the main beneficiary of French African colonization – from Black slavery to diamond trade. The Algerian Jews were awarded French nationality during occupation. That’s the reason nearly 140,000 Jews left Algeria after the withdrawal of French Occupation Force in 1962.
The massacre story quickly died, drowned out by fresher alarums and excursions in Europe and elsewhere.

It took 51 years before Paris acknowledged it barbarism against French Muslim citizens. On October 18, 2012, French president Hollande officially paid homage to the Muslim victims of what he termed “a bloody repression” by police.

“On Oct. 17, 1961, Algerians who were protesting for independence were killed in a bloody repression,” Hollande said.

Hollande’s mentioning of French guilt was criticized by anti-immigration parties like the National Front and pro-Israel Jewish groups.

On February 24, 2015, Jewish TIME magazine reported that French Jews are ready to discard their long-standing distrust for the Far Right and vote for the Front National. In January, Rachel Halliburton described how Marine Le Pen’s public condemnation of anti-Semitism had won her votes, as had her insistence that the party was the only one that defends secularity and democracy against Islamisation. A key part of her strategy has been to use the threat of radical Islam to court the sort of people that the far right has traditionally persecuted, including the gay community and the Jewish community.

Last year, French journalist and author Éric Zemmour (Jewish) suggested that in order to solve France’s “Muslim Problem”, like Europe’s “Jewish Problem”, Paris needs to expel country’s entire Muslim population (6-7 million).

The first phase of French Muslim history began in 716 CE when a group of Spanish Muslim soldiers crossed Spanish-French border along Pyrenees Mountains to occupy the city of Norborne. In 721 CE, Muslim forces under the command of Al-Samh ibn Malik conquered the city of Toulouse by defeating Duke Eudes of Aquitaine’s army. Toulouse was the scene of a recent Israeli Mossad’s false flag shooting operation which killed four French Jews at a school. Muslim forces continued their victory march until it reached the city of Lyon and occupied the city of Bordeaux in 731 CE. However, their advance turned into retreat when Muslim army was defeated by Duke Eudes in alliance with Charles Martel near the city of Poitiers in 732 CE.

The second phase began after Christian Crusaders defeated the last Spanish Sultanate in 1942 – consequently, some 150,000 Spanish Muslims who escaped the slaughter, had to seek refuge in south of France and settled there.

The third phase of French Muslim history began over 500 years ago, when France became the first Christian country to establish a diplomatic alliance with the Ottoman empire, and opening doors to diplomats, intellectuals, tourists and students from the Muslim East and North Africa.

How the Israel Lobby Took Control of U.S. Foreign Policy and Public Opinion

Jeff Gates is an attorney, acclaimed author, and former counsel to the U.S. Senate Committee on Finance.

Our guest has also served as an adviser to some 35 foreign governments. Jeff joins us to talk about his third book, Guilt By Association

-- How Deception and Self-Deceit Took America to War. He begins by explaining his personal awakening to the endorsed, systemic criminality going on in the background of politics. Jeff illustrates the US’s long-term relationship with the Israeli Zionist enclave that was recognized in 1948 during Truman’s presidency

– a group responsible for expanding organized crime to a global scale behind the façade of a sovereign state.

He’ll give details of how this core allegiance of parasites have successfully victimized America and waged an unconventional war against the American public through domination of the “in-between domains” of media, pop culture, politics, think tanks and education. Jeff discusses the ideas of an embedded consensus, the simple math of campaign contributions, assets, and groomed politicians.

We’ll consider how the US came to stand shoulder to shoulder with Israel and the role of the Israeli Lobby to take control of Congress.

Then, we’ll look at Hollywood’s role in advancing the narrative, extremism in faith communities, and the challenges of a society and government that operates by a consensus. Later, Jeff talks about the war with Iran that has been ongoing since 1979, and the manipulation of intelligence that could lead America into another war.

We’ll end by examining strategies that can be used to combat and bring attention to the Zionist storylines aggregated in our minds through master mythmaking and sophisticated storytelling.

Don’t Believe Mainstream US Media Coverage of Venezuela

Global Research, March 06, 2015

Nicolas Maduro

Diplomatic relations between Venezuela and the U.S. have just taken a big hit, with the government of Nicolas Maduro demanding that the American Embassy in Caracas reduce its staff by 80% and that U.S. visitors apply for visas.
Most symbolically, Venezuela has now barred a number of U.S. officials from visiting, including George W. Bush and Dick Cheney. The backdrop to these political moves is a new crisis within Venezuela that has an old script: right-wing leaders plan a coup, with the U.S. deeply implicated; wealthy protesters take to the streets; and the Western media cover both stories with great sympathy while openly mocking the democratically elected government for attempting to defend itself.
The latest crisis began when authorities acting on Maduro’s orders arrested Caracas Mayor Antonio Ledezma in mid-February. A well-known right-wing opposition figure, Ledezma will face trial for conspiracy against the government in what is now being called the “blue coup.” Among the pieces of evidence the government says it has collected are phone calls made by the mayor to a U.S. phone number, as well as a cache of weapons, including Molotov cocktails, grenade-like explosives and gas masks, found in the office headquarters of the opposition political party.
Ledezma is being held in the same facility as another right-wing politician, Leopoldo Lopez, who was arrested last year for overseeing a plan called La Salida, or “the exit,” to overturn the government. Lopez has had dealings with U.S. government figures including Sen. Ron Wyden, D-Ore. According to Wikileaks, the two apparently “discussed possible media strategies with Lopez, and methods for getting his positive message to audiences in the U.S.” Just before Ledezma’s arrest, he, Lopez and other right-wing opposition leaders, including Maria Corina Machado, had signed a document calling for a “National Transition”—a move the government says was a precursor to a U.S.-backed coup.
The U.S. has long been involved in attempts to destabilize Venezuela’s socialist government. Its role in the 2002 coup against Hugo Chavez is well-documented. Over the years, many organizations, including ones in which right-wing opposition figures are involved, have received funding from the likes of USAID and the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), both U.S.-based agencies notorious for fomenting unrest in countries hostile to U.S. interests. For example, Machado headed an organization named Sumate that has received funding from the NED.
U.S. officials have also made no secret about their hostility to Venezuela. Last year the Obama administration imposed sanctions on a number of Venezuelan officials it claims are implicated in human rights abuses and corruption, although it is keeping the list of names secret. In President Obama’s 2015 National Security Strategy, he announced that the U.S. would “stand by the citizens of countries where the full exercise of democracy is at risk, such as Venezuela.”
Despite this documentation of American animosity toward Venezuela, media outlets continue to harbor an inexplicable blind spot on the U.S. role. The New York Times opined last week in what we can consider Exhibit A in the case against media coverage of Venezuela:
Listening to embattled President Nicolás Maduro of Venezuela ramble for hours about an international right-wing conspiracy to oust him, it’s clear that he would use any fabricated pretext to jail opposition leaders and crack down on dissent. In recent days, the government’s claims have become outlandish and its repression of critics even more vicious.
Professor Miguel Tinker Salas, one of the few U.S.-based experts on Venezuela, has written a book that will be released May 4 titled “Venezuela: What Everyone Needs to Know.” In aninterview on “Uprising,” he responded to the editorial, saying, “We know that there was a historical amnesia on the part of the New York Times that celebrated the 2002 coup against Hugo Chavez.”
Salas was referring to the paper’s mea culpa at initially celebrating that coup and then retracting its words days later when it was overturned. In its new editorial, the paper failed to raise the historical context of U.S. backing for the 2002 coup or its own contradictory stances dismissing Maduro’s concerns.
Exhibit B is The Economist, which went as far as headlining the current crisis in Venezuela “A slow-motion coup.” If by “coup” the magazine means “coup d’état”—which is generally defined as the illegal takeover of a government—then it is unclear what the writers mean, for the article claims the “regime is lurching from authoritarianism to dictatorship.” (Is Maduro’s government organizing a coup against itself?) The magazine also goes on to assert that “Crackpot economic policies have brought food shortages, soaring inflation and rising poverty.”
Salas explained that the writers are irked by the fact that “[s]ixty percent of the government’s budget actually goes to social programs and [the opposition] would rather it go to infrastructure and oil companies so that they can produce more oil and have a larger supply of oil on the world market, and have it be privately owned.”
Thanks to this type of media coverage, the Venezuelan right-wing opposition has been extremely successful at generating sympathy, especially among the U.S. public, and even among American celebrities. Last year’s right-wing protests inspired a shout-out by actor Jared Leto during his Oscar acceptance speech, a supportive blog post by Kevin Spacey and even a social media post by singer Madonna.
What neither the Times nor The Economist nor the supportive celebrities notice are the troubling double standards of criticizing Venezuela when a close U.S. ally such as Mexico suffers from far worse problems of anti-democratic corruption and violence. Salas pointed out the hypocrisy, saying that 43 people were killed in Venezuela last year on both sides of the divide, and still, “The New York Times blames the government for these deaths, and yet they remain silent about the 43 students that were killed in Mexico.” Additionally, Salas pointed out, although Mexico has “100,000 dead and a real humanitarian crisis,” the Times says “almost nothing, while on Venezuela they … mock the government.”
November 2014 editorial by the Times on Mexico’s 43 missing students expressed not nearly as much vitriol for that country’s clearly corrupt and discredited government as the paper reserves for Venezuela’s Maduro, whom it called “authoritarian,” “erratic” and “maniacal.”
Additionally, The Economist’s mocking of Venezuela’s economic crisis is also hypocritical because, according to Salas, in Mexico, “fifty percent of the population lives in poverty” and yet the country “is portrayed as a model for Western development and neo-liberal economics.” And while media outlets make fun of Venezuela’s toilet paper shortage, Salas counters that in Mexico, which is a U.S. ally, huge numbers of “people don’t even have access to basic services and foods.”
Media coverage of Venezuela is so skewed that even the contentious issue of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict seems to generate fairer coverage these days. Salas attributed the bias to the savvy organizing of right-wing Venezuelan groups, who he says have “learned the lesson very well from Cuban Americans in Miami and South Florida, so they know how to target the media, they know how to create public opinion and they have done that very well.”
But Salas thinks there is another explanation, and that is “the lack of knowledge that existed about Venezuela in the U.S. before Hugo Chavez came to power.” Most of what Americans knew about the country other than that it had abundant oil reserves was the fact that it once won a Miss Universe contest and was home to a few good baseball players. That ignorance has been a perfect blank slate on which the U.S. government, mainstream media and right-wing opposition parties have been able to carve their warped perspectives about Venezuela’s left-wing government.

Israeli Media: Hezbollah Directly Threatens Zionist Marine Oil Facilities

The Zionist media outlets considered that the Israeli marine oil facilities are directly threat from Hezbollah and the Palestinian Resistance factions.

The outlets added that the Israeli army has to cope with that challenge on the northern and the southern fronts, noting that Hezbollah and the Palestinian Resistance factions  are preparing to target the Zionist gas platforms during any upcoming war.

Turkey Detains Kobani Hero while Treating ISIS commander in hospital

Esra Yakar, a 5th-grade student at the Medical School of Dicle University in Diyarbakir, went to the Kurdish province of Kobani a few months ago as a volunteer doctor to help treat Kurds wounded in the fighting with ISIS militants.
In December 2014, she suffered heavy wounds to her head and right eye during an attack by ISIS.
The Turkish Medical Association reported she was taken to Turkey for better treatment but Yakar was shuffled between various hospitals and her referral to a hospital for advanced examination and treatment was delayed. In the meantime, she lost her right eye.
After Yakar was finally taken to a hospital in Ankara, the prosecutors in Diyarbakir launched an investigation against her. And while still under medical treatment, she was arrested and jailed in the Sincan prison in Ankara for being a “terrorist”.
Meanwhile, reports on social media suggest Emrah Cakan, a Turkish-born ISIS commander wounded in Kobani, has been getting medical treatment at the university hospital in the province of Denizli in Turkey since 28 February.
Orhan Cicek, head of the pro-Kurdish Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) of Denizli, said Cakan’s relatives confirmed he has been an ISIS member for six months.
That a Kurdish doctor wounded by ISIS in Kobani was deprived of health services, and then arrested on spurious charges, while an ISIS commander is safely treated in hospital, is a manifestation of the injustice of the Turkish legal and political system against Kurdish people – and supporting terrorism.

Russia Provides Egypt with Antey-2500 Missile Systems

Local Editor

Russian defense systemRussia has begun delivering Antey-2500 air defense missile systems to Egypt under a contract signed earlier, a high-ranking source in the Russian Defense Ministry told Interfax-AVN on Thursday.

"Deliveries of auxiliary technological equipment have been launched. Within a year, Egypt will receive launchers and other equipment," he said.

"The contract is being implemented according to schedule," the source said, declining to say how many Antey-2500 systems were purchased by Egypt.

Antey-2500 is the export version of Russia's S-300V4 surface-to-air missile system, which is used by the Russian Land Forces. The new system is able to engage ballistic and aerodynamic targets within a range of up to 400 kilometers.

Venezuela became the first foreign country to buy Antey-2500 systems, which were also offered to Iran.

Russia is one of the main non-Arab supporters of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi’s government and was among the first countries to endorse Sisi’s presidential bid in 2014 after he toppled the former administration led by the ousted President Mohammad Mursi.

The “Cataclysmic Conflict” Yet to Come

And what we can do to stop it.

Corporate-financier interests driving US foreign policy have long ago conspired to use Al Qaeda and other sectarian extremist forces to create a Pan-Arabian mercenary force with which to fight their enemies. Warned about in 2007 in a prophetic 9-page report by veteran journalist, two-time Pulitzer Prize-winner Seymour Hersh, then exposed through documented evidence over the course of the past four years, and now incontrovertibly unfolding before the world’s eyes, this criminal conspiracy against world peace and all of humanity can be seen in its full, horrific form.
The war special interests in the United States along with its co-conspirators plan to wage across the planet encompasses not only the Middle East and North Africa, but also Russia, China, and beyond. It threatens the lives, peace, and prosperity of all on Earth. If it is not exposed, and the special interests driving it not undermined, uprooted, and purged from humanity, none will escape the dark days that inevitably lie ahead.
The Unheeded Warning
It was in 2007, in the New Yorker, that veteran journalist Seymour Hersh published his lengthy, prophetic report, “The Redirection Is the Administration’s new policy benefitting our enemies in the war on terrorism?” Within it, Washington, Riyadh, and Tel Aviv were exposed amidst a criminal conspiracy to use sectarian extremists in a proxy war against Iran and its allies in Syria and Lebanon. The impending conflict was described as “cataclysmic.”
The report stated explicitly that (emphasis added):
To undermine Iran, which is predominantly Shiite, the Bush Administration has decided, in effect, to reconfigure its priorities in the Middle East. In Lebanon, the Administration has coöperated with Saudi Arabia’s government, which is Sunni, in clandestine operations that are intended to weaken Hezbollah, the Shiite organization that is backed by Iran. The U.S. has also taken part in clandestine operations aimed at Iran and its ally Syria. A by-product of these activities has been the bolstering of Sunni extremist groups that espouse a militant vision of Islam and are hostile to America and sympathetic to Al Qaeda
And because the conspiracy was exposed during the administration of US President George W. Bush, attempts by the establishment to compartmentalize current, and increasingly more obvious support by the US of Al Qaeda and the so-called “Islamic State” by characterizing it as a misstep or even “treason” by the administration of US President Barack Obama, is merely a political ploy. It is clear that instead, the policy and its execution across two supposedly diametrically opposed political parties, is an example of “continuity of agenda.”
And while the political “right” in the United States in particular feigns outrage and suspicion over the Obama administration’s ties and support for sectarian extremist organizations, including the Muslim Brotherhood and factions with direct ties to Al Qaeda, it was exposed in Hersh’s 2007 article that the Bush administration had in fact initiated this support.  Obama keeping the Oval Office’s chair warm while this policy continues.
Hersh’s report would state:
There is evidence that the Administration’s redirection strategy has already benefitted the Brotherhood. The Syrian National Salvation Front is a coalition of opposition groups whose principal members are a faction led by Abdul Halim Khaddam, a former Syrian Vice-President who defected in 2005, and the Brotherhood. A former high-ranking C.I.A. officer told me, “The Americans have provided both political and financial support. The Saudis are taking the lead with financial support, but there is American involvement.” He said that Khaddam, who now lives in Paris, was getting money from Saudi Arabia, with the knowledge of the White House. (In 2005, a delegation of the Front’s members met with officials from the National Security Council, according to press reports.) A former White House official told me that the Saudis had provided members of the Front with travel documents.

[Walid] Jumblatt said he understood that the issue was a sensitive one for the White House. “I told Cheney that some people in the Arab world, mainly the Egyptians”—whose moderate Sunni leadership has been fighting the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood for decades—“won’t like it if the United States helps the Brotherhood. But if you don’t take on Syria we will be face to face in Lebanon with Hezbollah in a long fight, and one we might not win.”
This support would manifest itself both in Egypt and Syria, where the Muslim Brotherhood, its political networks, and armed groups built within them, served as the foundation of unrest and violence that took place under the cover of regional US-engineered political subversion often referred to as the “Arab Spring.” In Egypt, the Muslim Brotherhood would succeed temporarily in seizing power. In Syria, the Brotherhood would trigger violence and eventually devastating, protracted war.Perhaps throughout Hersh’s 9-page report, the most sobering warning came from a former CIA agent in Lebanon. Hersh’s report would state:
Robert Baer, a former longtime C.I.A. agent in Lebanon, has been a severe critic of Hezbollah and has warned of its links to Iranian-sponsored terrorism. But now, he told me, “we’ve got Sunni Arabs preparing for cataclysmic conflict, and we will need somebody to protect the Christians in Lebanon. It used to be the French and the United States who would do it, and now it’s going to be Nasrallah and the Shiites.
And this is precisely what is now unfolding all across the Middle East and North Africa. A cataclysmic conflict driven by sectarian extremists waging war on minority groups across the region, with only Iran, Syria, and Hezbollah left to defend them – and with the United States and its allies doing everything imaginable to stop them from doing so.
Clearly the “French and the United States,” cannot reprise their role as protectors of the region’s minorities, since they have openly thrown in their lot – as predicted by Hersh in 2007 and as is evident today – with Al Qaeda and ISIS.
ISIS is Al Qaeda – And America is Backing them Both
Attempts to compartmentalize political responsibility for the rise and perpetuation of extremists across the Arab World is not the only game being played by Western special interests. They have also attempted to compartmentalize the extremists themselves.
Images: Terrorists operating in Syria billed as “moderates” by the US have received weapons, cash, and other forms of support from the West. All of these groups are now admittedly are Al Qaeda, fully armed with US weapons and in possession of US cash and equipment.
In Syria, Al Qaeda in the form of Jabhat al-Nusra, has been the prevailing armed faction throughout the conflict, beginning in 2011. This isn’t according to the Syrian government and “Bashar al Assad’s propaganda,” this is according to the US State Department itself which listed them as a foreign terrorist organization in 2012. In their official statement, “Terrorist Designations of the al-Nusrah Front as an Alias for al-Qa’ida in Iraq,” they reported:
Since November 2011, al-Nusrah Front has claimed nearly 600 attacks – ranging from more than 40 suicide attacks to small arms and improvised explosive device operations – in major city centers including Damascus, Aleppo, Hamah, Dara, Homs, Idlib, and Dayr al-Zawr. During these attacks numerous innocent Syrians have been killed. Through these attacks, al-Nusrah has sought to portray itself as part of the legitimate Syrian opposition while it is, in fact, an attempt by AQI to hijack the struggles of the Syrian people for its own malign purposes. AQI emir Abu Du’a is in control of both AQI and al-Nusrah. Abu Du’a was designated by the State Department under E.O. 13224 on October 3, 2011, and by the United Nations under UN Security Council Resolution 1267 on October 5, 2011. Abu Du’a also issues strategic guidance to al-Nusrah’s emir, Abu Muhammad al-Jawlani, and tasked him to begin operations in Syria.
For readers who may have believed the US State Department’s claims that “al-Nusrah has sought to portray itself as part of the legitimate Syrian opposition while it is, in fact, an attempt by AQI to hijack the struggles of the Syrian people for its own malign purposes,” they may be shocked to discover that now, apparently, al-Nusra is considered by the US and its allies among the “legitimate Syrian opposition.”
In order to make this possible, Nusra is carrying out a public relations campaign with the aid of American and European media monopolies – including Reuters who in their report titled, “Insight – Syria’s Nusra Front may leave Qaeda to form new entity,” would claim:
Leaders of Syria’s Nusra Front are considering cutting their links with al Qaeda to form a new entity backed by some Gulf states trying to topple President Bashar al-Assad, sources said.

Sources within and close to Nusra said that Qatar, which enjoys good relations with the group, is encouraging the group to go ahead with the move, which would give Nusra a boost in funding.
Of course, Nusra is already harbored, aided, armed, and abetted by NATO, using NATO territory in Turkey as a base of operations. And while Reuters attempts to portray Nusra as “the enemy of our enemy,” claiming the rebranding and boost in funding would help them fight the “Islamic State,” by all accounts Nusra and ISIS are already one in the same.
What’s worse is that this trick of portraying Al Qaeda as a bifurcated movement at odds with itself to compartmentalize and use the same organization for multiple, and at times, opposing objectives, was
already seen during the US occupation of Iraq.
The New York Times in its article, “Leader of Al Qaeda group in Iraq was fictional, U.S. military says,” would admit:
Brigadier General Kevin Bergner, the chief American military spokesman, said the elusive Baghdadi was actually a fictional character whose audio-taped declarations were provided by an elderly actor named Abu Adullah al-Naima.

The ruse, Bergner said, was devised by Abu Ayub al-Masri, the Egyptian-born leader of Al Qaeda in Mesopotamia, who was trying to mask the dominant role that foreigners play in that insurgent organization.

The ploy was to invent Baghdadi, a figure whose very name establishes his Iraqi pedigree, install him as the head of a front organization called the Islamic State of Iraq and then arrange for Masri to swear allegiance to him. Ayman al-Zawahiri, Osama bin Laden’s deputy, sought to reinforce the deception by referring to Baghdadi in his video and Internet statements.
Indeed, the “Islamic State in Iraq” was fictional. It was Al Qaeda all along, just like the “Islamic State in Syria and Iraq” or “ISIS” is also fictional, a functionary of Al Qaeda and the foreign interests sponsoring it.The reality of this couldn’t be illustrated any more perfectly than with the case of Libyan terrorist Abdelhakim Belhadj. Having been a member of the “Libyan Islamic Fighting Group” or LIFG for decades, he would literally travel to Afghanistan where he would fight American soldiers in the wake of 9/11. He was even captured and enrolled in the United States’ infamous “rendition program.” Upon release from prison in Libya, he would promptly organize and lead armed rebellion against the government Muammar Qaddafi, with extensive NATO arms, cash, and even air cover.A 2007 West Point Combating Terrorism Center (CTC) report examining the demographics of foreign fighters caught in Iraq fighting then occupying US troops would reveal that the NATO-backed rebels in Libya led by Belhaj were in fact fighters drawn from the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG) listed by both the US State Department and UK Home Office as a foreign terrorist organization.
Image: US Senators John McCain and Lindsey Graham pose with senior Al Qaeda leader Abdulhakim Belhaj, after NATO delivered the nation of Libya to him and his terrorist organization in 2011. Belhaj is now reportedly operating under the banner of ISIS.
In essence then, the United States and its NATO partners knowingly and willfully handed the nation of Libya and its people over to Al Qaeda. Despite Belhaj’s documented terrorist past and present, US politicians would meet with him, showering upon him accolades, praise, and continued political and military support. Among these politicians were US Senators John McCain and Lindsey Graham who met and literally shook Belhaj’s hand while standing upon the ruins of Libya.
That McCain and Graham are both Republicans supporting terrorism, alongside a Democrat US President also allegedly supporting terrorism, illustrates perfectly that special interests own and control both sides of the political aisle, using opposing rhetoric to appeal members on either side, while both sides carry forward the exact same agenda.
More recently, US news sources claimed Belhaj was now leading Libya’s branch of ISIS. The Washington Times would report in an article titled, “U.S. backed rebel reportedly leads Islamic State in Libya,” that:
Major news out of Libya as Abdelhakim Belhadj, the former head of the al Qaeda-linked Libyan Islamic Fighting Group, and a major player in the U.S.-backed overthrow of Moammar Gadhafi, has reportedly joined the Islamic State and is leading its forces there. This according to The Blaze National Security journalist Sara Carter on Twitter, and Fox News’ Catherine Herridge in a Fox News report.
Western news sources had reported as early as November of last year that many of the so-called “rebels” in Libya had begun forming under the banner of ISIS. CNN in an article titled, “ISIS comes to Libya,” claimed:
The black flag of ISIS flies over government buildings. Police cars carry the group’s insignia. The local football stadium is used for public executions. A town in Syria or Iraq? No. A city on the coast of the Mediterranean, in Libya.
Fighters loyal to the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria are now in complete control of the city of Derna, population of about 100,000, not far from the Egyptian border and just about 200 miles from the southern shores of the European Union.
The fighters are taking advantage of political chaos to rapidly expand their presence westwards along the coast, Libyan sources tell CNN.
This means that US politicians served a direct role in propping up ISIS in Libya, whether they claim it was incidental rather than intentional – a cautionary tale to be told as these very same politicians attempt a repeat performance in Syria and beyond.
The rebranding of NATO’s terrorist proxies in Libya and attempts to literally back and arm Al Qaeda’s Nusra front in Syria portend an impending conflict of a scale yet to be seen – one involving Libya’s neighbor Egypt, and Syria’s neighbor, Iran.
The “Cataclysmic Conflict” Yet to Come
Egypt narrowly escaped subjugation by the West through the very same Muslim Brotherhood networks used to destabilize and destroy Syria. After initially bending to the sociopolitical currents unleashed by the 2011 “Arab Spring,” the Egyptian military sprung back, ejecting the Muslim Brotherhood from power amid a military coup.
Egypt’s new military-led government moved with merciless lighting speed in suppressing the Muslim Brotherhood domestically. Hundreds of Muslim Brotherhood members, including leaders have been rounded up, tried, and sentenced to death. The military-led government has exhibited zero tolerance both for militant groups within their borders, and street demonstrations agitated by US NGOs and used for cover behind which militants operate.
All of this was carried out, as drastic as many of the measures may seem, with the intention of sparing Egypt the same protracted conflict Syria is now suffering.
The failure of the West’s “Arab Spring” putsch with the fall of the Muslim Brotherhood, and its subsequent inability to stoke sufficient unrest from within Egypt’s borders has led to the sudden and convenient conjuring of ISIS in neighboring Libya. Already, heinous acts of barbarity have been carried out against Egyptian citizens residing in Libya for the sole purpose of stoking sectarian flames within Egypt’s borders.
Egypt has responded by supporting military factions in Libya fighting Belhaj’s sectarian extremists, now operating under the banner of ISIS. Egypt has also conducted airstrikes on Libyan territory itself.  As NATO’s proxies commit to ever bolder acts of provocation, the conflict is set only to expand.
What is to come, and the purpose of unveiling ISIS in Libya, is a torrent of terrorism and militancy, backed by NATO, aimed directly at the Egyptian military and – if possible – into the heart of Egypt itself.
Egypt, with a population of over 80 million people, if made to suffer the same sort of protracted conflict Syria is now suffering at the hands of Western backed terrorists, would cost an immeasurable loss in life and destabilize not only both North Africa and the Middle East – across which Egypt’s sphere of influence lies – but also endanger international shipping through the Suez Canal and threaten Europe with an influx of refugees fleeing what would be a war zone of unprecedented modern day dimensions.
Either as part of a strategy to destabilize and destroy Egypt, or to excise from Cairo geopolitical concessions including the abandonment of Syria as well as Egypt’s backing amid increasing hostilities toward Iran, the West’s use of ISIS in Libya is yet another manifestation of what veteran journalist Seymour Hersh warned about in his 2007 report.
ISIS will form the foundation of a regional mercenary force aimed conveniently at the hearts of each and every one of Wall Street and Washington’s enemies, while suspiciously, ISIS spares all of the West’s allies.
The ongoing violence in Libya and Syria is only the beginning. Should Egypt and Iran be mired in the same widespread violence, fueled by billions upon billions in cash, equipment, and weapons flowing from all corners of the Earth into the region, the “cataclysmic conflict” warned about in 2007 will finally come to pass.
Image: While NATO is clearly threatening Russia’s borders in Ukraine, it is also creating a united front of sectarian extremists that will push through Russia’s southern region. This is essentially Adolf Hitler’s invasion of Russia, in slow motion, using the methods of 4th generation warfare – Operation Barbarossa and the Afrika Korps accounted for.
It will not end in the Middle East. If successful in establishing hegemony there, the chaos will spread to all corners of the globe. First to southern Russia and western China, then beyond. The question of whether or not one will eventually be affected by this conflict is not a matter of if, but a matter of when.
Uprooting the Conspirators
This is not “Obama’s” war. Nor is this a “Republican” or “Neo-Con” war. This is a war for global hegemony waged by the corporations, banks, and institutions upon Wall Street and in Washington that transcend elections and own parties on all sides and in all corners of the current, prevailing political paradigm. Appealing to a political party controlled by these interests is the very definition of futile.
Image: Growing your own food locally can be profitable and satisfying. It is also one of several means of localization with which to undermine and redistribute the immense concentration of unwarranted power and influence enjoyed by the corporate-financier interests driving chaos globally.
In order to undermine and uproot these special interests, these corporations, banks, and institutions must be replaced by local alternatives – on a national level around the planet, and on a provincial, state, and local level within each nation.
It is not merely “Walmart,” “Pepsi,” or “Exxon” themselves as corporations, but rather the concentration of power, wealth, and influence these corporations collectively represent. Often it is the same board members and financial interests holding stakes in each corporation, and it is this handful of shareholders that in turn, fund policy think tanks behind policy papers engineering wars of aggression, including the current proxy war being waged through “ISIS” and “Al Qaeda.”
Image: Hackerspaces are local institutions that pool resources and knowledge
together allowing local communities to develop and employ technology. It
is one of many ways people can begin decentralizing the unwarranted power
and influence being abused by immense corporate-financier monopolies.
Decentralizing these vast monopolies through the creation and proliferation of local alternatives will systematically undermine their capacity to wield the unwarranted power and influence they currently enjoy. Whether it is decentralizing big-retailbig-telecombig-pharma, or big-auto in general, or targeting specific monopolies like Facebook, there are already people working around the world to make this happen and simply need more people to leave the perpetual distractions and diversions of global politics, and begin paying into localization.
The alternative media has already proven the power of people turning from consumers and into producers, and the redistribution and balance of power and influence it creates. Imagine tackling all monopolies in a similar manner.
While the conflicts ravaging the Middle East and North Africa seem “remote,” the fact that similar chaos is now being sown by NATO on the doorstep of Europe in Ukraine, means that if left unchallenged, it is only a matter of time before these conflicts affect everyone directly, no matter where one lives. Rather than organizing protests or taking up arms in an impossible, fictional future battle against tyranny, decentralizing massive monopolies globally, and building up our communities locally is something we can begin doing today – with something as simple as planting a garden to first reduce our dependency on big-agriculture.   In the near future, these activities could become profitable, and before that, certainly satisfying and constructive.
We have nothing to lose by trying, and everything to lose if we don’t.
