It`s time to encourage a `Jewish Spring`

By Marianne Azizi

As elections loom and politicians begin to woo their voters in Israel, now is the time for people power. As an extraordinarily critical time emerges in the Middle East, love them or hate them, it is time for us to get out our pompoms and support real change in Israel.

Questions need to be asked of the major US funders, who are using outlandish propaganda to raise funds - such as 40% of cot deaths in Israel are in fact murder and 38% of children are sexually or psychologically abused. What sane democratic country such as the USA would pour in military aid to such a deranged people? Of course, the spreading of such lies is merely a smokescreen for the these funders to make money in their own private institutions. One such organisation - the Lynn Shusterman Foundation - seems to be using outlandish propaganda to feed its private profits.

Whilst social injustice prevails on the ordinary people, especially those most in need - where are the politicians? Where are the philanthropists? Who is addressing the needs of the poorest in the country? Over 800,000 children are hungry, which is nearly 40% of the children in the population. Who does Israel actually exist for?

Extreme right wingers want us to mind our own business, and stop interfering with Israel. They crave self- determination. Left wingers have lost their voice, trampled on as they try to toy with the subject of peace. The West is perplexed as the dream crumbles with fear and anger being the dominant emotion coming out of the country. The Palestinians are picking up the pieces of another devastating war with growing support for their cause worldwide.
Israeli children are medicated to a level unknown in European culture, disengaged, separated from their fathers in divorce. The infrastructure is at breaking point with the strongest sector of the community emancipated by corrupt and cruel family laws. One in 72 divorcing men commit suicide as they lose contact with their children due to the radical feminist dominance running rampage through the rights of fathers to be good providers and role models.

Don't be fooled by the bluster and the denial which exists in Israel. Don't listen to the complaints of Jewish people daring to get involved in the Disapora. Israel cannot exist without the funding of the USA and Britain. Israel does exist - barely.

Where is the politician who has the ability to bring fairness to its citizens and have the kudos to deal with the international community? As nearly 80% of Israelis scratch their heads and wonder who to vote for, the snap election has come in too short a space for real people at ground level to make the difference which is desperately needed.
Encourage people to stand up and be counted. There is nothing to lose, and everything to lose. Israel is facing the most critical time in its history. Wages a pittance; the cost of living ridiculously high, unaffordable housing for most, and the image of Nero fiddling whilst Rome burns comes to mind.

I would dare to claim that in their hearts most Israelis want a peaceful life, as do most Palestinians. It's out of control with no real leadership to win hearts and minds.

In a matter of months Israel will elect a leader whose decisions will impact every tax payer in the USA and Britain. We have the right to encourage and ask the Israeli people to stand up and be counted in the modern world.

In the only democracy in the Middle East it is the time for the people to stand up, go into the streets and be counted.
We shall be cheering you on if you have the courage for peace, social justice and the support of the world.
