New York Times Inadvertently Admits Israel is an Apartheid State

One of Khader Adnan's achievements with his 66-day hunger strike is he has backed the New York Times into a corner, forcing it to admit (even if only inadvertently) that Israel has a double-tiered system of justice—one for Jews and one for Palestinians.

Or in other words, that Israel is an Apartheid state.

The following appeared on the Times website February 20. Take special note of the words highlighted in yellow:

"A decades-old Israel practice employed almost exclusively against Palestinians." What does this in effect mean?

A double-tiered system of justice is one of the definitions of Apartheid under the International Convention on the Suppression and Punishment of the Crime of Apartheid, adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 1973. Article II of that convention lists nine "inhuman acts committed for the purpose" of establishing dominance of one racial group over another. Two of these are:

1. Denial to a member or members of a racial group or groups of the right to life and liberty of person;

2. Arbitrary arrest and illegal imprisonment of the members of a racial group or groups

The New York Times has in effect admitted that Israel practices Apartheid against the Palestinians.
