Nine Killed in Kabul Attack All Americans: Pentagon

A shooting on Wednesday at an air training command center in Afghanistan claimed the lives of eight US troops and an American contractor, a Pentagon spokesman admitted.

"Eight service members and one civilian were killed in the attack. All US," Colonel Dave Lapan told reporters. He confirmed that the shooter, a former Afghan pilot who apparently opened fire after a row, had also been killed.

The troops and contractor were killed in a shooting incident involving an Afghan Air Force pilot at Kabul's airport on Wednesday, NATO said. It was one of the deadliest incidents of "rogue" Afghans turning their weapons on foreign soldiers.
