Hamas: Wikileaks exposes Israel-Fatah alliance

GAZA, (PIC)-- Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri told the Palestinian Information Center Tuesday that new documents posted on Wikileaks confirm the extent of security cooperation between Israel and the Palestinian Authority.

The information proves Fatah's involvement in the war on Gaza and continued security cooperation with Israel to end Hamas and its armed wing, the Qassam Brigades, through its security agencies in the West Bank and groups in the Gaza Strip.

The site leaked a document from the US of Fatah requesting Israeli Security Service (Shin Bet) president Yuval Diskin to attack Hamas, the authority in the Gaza Strip.

The document is a telegram US Ambassador to Israel Richard Jones sent to the US State Department after meeting with Diskin in 2007, quoting Diskin as saying: “(Fatah) has reached stage zero...They have requested that we attack Hamas...This is a new development...We have not seen this before...They have lost hope.”

Diskin also expressed his opposition to arming elements loyal to the PA in the Gaza Strip for fear of the weapons falling into the hands of Hamas, in response to a request by US's military envoy to the West Bank General Dayton to arm elements from the Fatah party in Gaza to combat Hamas.

Diskin was also reported to have praised the PA security agencies. “There is an exchange of intelligence information,” he said. “They have understood that Israel's security is necessary for their success in confronting Hamas.”
