OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)-- The Aqsa foundation for endowment and heritage revealed that the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) carried out Wednesday evening military drills simulating a situation in which they storm the Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem.

The foundation explained that a group of its staff made a field visit to the scene in the wilds of Ben Shemen where the troops were conducting the simulation drills and saw quite big models of the Dome of the Rock and the old Aqsa Mosque enclosed by a green plastic fence while the troops were deployed in the middle.

According to the witnesses, the troops were training how to break into the Aqsa Mosque and use different types of grenades against the Palestinians in case serious events took place against the Mosque.

Spokesman for the Israeli border guards claimed these exercises were aimed at making preparations for the month of Ramadan as there could be stone throwing during this month.

Spokesman for the Islamic Movement in the 1948 occupied lands Zahi Nujeidat said that such drills exposed Israel's malicious intentions against the Aqsa Mosque and its dreams of building the alleged temple of Solomon in its place.

For his part, Jerusalemite lawmaker Mohamed Totah warned that Israel is planning to take over all parts of Jerusalem after expelling its native people and obliterating its Islamic and Arab identity.

Totah pointed to the absentee law created by Israel to steal the Jerusalemite people's land and property and transfer the ownership to Israeli settlers, adding that there is a close correlation between Israel's decision to force Palestinians to pledge allegiance to it and its decision to expropriate the property of absentees in the holy city.

He appealed to the Arab and Muslim nations to fulfill their moral and religious obligations towards Jerusalem and the Aqsa Mosque, and called on the international community to urgently intervene to stop Israel's Judaization activities in the city.
