GAZA, (PIC)-- The Prime Minister of the Palestinian government in Gaza, Ismail Haneyya, met on Thursday with a delegation of Arab artists and expressed his gratitude for their solidarity visit to the Gaza Strip.

He added that their visit and solidarity visits by other groups shows that the Palestinian cause lives in the heart of the Arab world and that the siege on Gaza have become the cause of all people.

He called for keeping the momentum of these solidarity visits to prove to the world that these visits are not just a reaction to certain events but a genuine interaction with a humanitarian, moral and national cause, calling for an immediate end of the oppressive siege.

The Prime Minister added that the Israeli occupation authority thought it could make an easy meal of Gaza and its people, but the international humanitarian intifada has foiled the Zionist scheme and the results are the opposite of what the Zionists planned for.

Haneyya also said that the Israeli occupation got used to committing atrocities betting that such atrocities will be forgotten and that the Arab people will forget their central issue while busying themselves with secondary issues and the most eloquent reply to such mentality is the continuation with solidarity with Gaza, the issue of which is a fundamental part of the issue of the whole nation.

Meanwhile, head of the Arab Artists Union, Ashraf Zaki, expressed his delight at being able to visit the besieged Gaza Strip to express solidarity with the Palestinian people and told the PIC correspondent that he will continue to campaign for and until the end of the siege.
