New IOA scheme to confiscate 70% of Wadi Hilwa in OJ
OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)– The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) controlled municipality of occupied Jerusalem has endorsed a new scheme that would confiscate 70% of Wadi Hilwa valley in the holy city.
The Wadi Hilwa information center said in a study published on Wednesday that the total area of the Wadi is 548.5 dunums out of which 18.7% are residential neighborhoods while the remaining 70% are now targeted by the municipality to construct parking lots, passageways and open land areas.
The center said that the project named “11555″ would be carried out soon, noting that the major part of the project would be at the expense of the Palestinian citizens in the area.
It said that the area would be categorized as an “A” zone and taxes would be increased on those living in it, which most citizens could not pay.
The center pointed out that half of the 620 houses in the Wadi are threatened with demolition.
Sabri warns of Israeli plan to deprive Palestinians of living in J’lem
OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)– Sheikh Ekrema Sabri, the head of the higher Islamic authority and the preacher of the Aqsa Mosque, warned that Israel plans to deprive more than 125, 000 Palestinian citizens from the right to live in the occupied city of Jerusalem.
In a press release, Sheikh Sabri explained that the Israeli occupation authority (IOA) embarked during the last years on carrying out several measures to isolate and encircle Jerusalem.
He added that the IOA established hundreds of military checkpoints at all entrances of the holy city, expanded the apartheid wall, forced the Jerusalemite citizens who live behind this wall to stay in their homes and formed local committees to manage their lives in order to prevent them from moving into the holy city.
The holy Mosque preacher affirmed that Israel intensified its settlement activities in the Old City of Jerusalem and surrounded it by settlement outposts, pointing out that Israel earmarked at the beginning of this year a budget of tens of millions of dollars to demolish homes of Jerusalemites and change the demographic map of Jerusalem in favor of the Jews.
The preacher appealed to all international human rights organizations to intervene to stop the ethnic cleansing policy carried out by Israel against the Jerusalemite Palestinians and its Judaization activities in the holy city.
